Learn to wakeboard or water-ski, experience the rush of a jet ski or the fun of bumper boats. Kick start your adrenalin with parasailing or round off another perfect day on a sunset lake cruise.
Sun City Super bowl: Situated in the Entertainment Centre, the Sun City Superbowl is regarded as one the finest concert venues in South Africa and hosts everything from sporting events to beauty pageants and international exhibitions.
Movie zone: Current box office releases show daily at two cinemas located on the upper level of the Sun City Entertainment Centre.
Sun City Theatre: Located at the Sun City Hotel, the Sun City Theatre stages glamorous cabaret productions: spectacles set against dazzling backdrops with glittering performers, extravagant costumes and pulsating soundtracks.
Silhouette Nightclub: Located on the upper level of the Entertainment Centre, Silhouette Nightclub is the hottest hot spot to dance until dawn.
Shopping: Sun City offers a selection of boutiques and shops to satisfy any retail therapy cravings. There are memento and gift shops at The Palace of the Lost City and Sun City Hotel, top jewelers for diamonds and gold, and in the Entertainment Centre, you will find a fragrance shop, a pharmacy and a range of fashion boutiques, including shoes and accessories. 2. The Winelands tour
We head north to Paarl, for a cellar tour and a cheese and wine tasting. Learn all about what makes these wines world class! We make our way to Franschhoek with a photo stop at the Groot Drakenstein Prison where Nelson Mandela was released in Feb 1990. The village of Franschhoek nestled amongst the mountains, can easily be mistaken as being in Switzerland. Home to some magnificent wine estates, you will have time to walk through the village and soak up the atmosphere of rural sophistication.
The tour continues to drive through the historic town of Stellenbosch with its picturesque white gabled Cape Dutch architecture. The pretty streets and quaint lanes are lined with old oak trees. The town boasts a large university with energetic students offering a contrast to the old-world feel of the town. If time permits our guide will choose a second estate for another wine tasting before heading back to your hotel. This tour also offers the opportunity to purchase wine. Stellenbosch with its beautiful art galleries and interesting shops is also part of the Western Cape Arts and Crafts Route.
After the wine tasting and visit to the wine farms the tour then continues to Moyo’s place in Spier, where you can enjoy lunch with variety of African meals on the menu, entertainment that includes African dancing, singing and face painting.
3. The Cape Town Cultural Tour
We will visit the Townships – a tour that offers you an insight and interaction with different cultures, communities and individuals. Witness everyday life in a harsh environment where you will hear some of the 11 official languages being spoken. This is an exciting story which tells of the struggles, hopes and achievements. See why 27 April 1994 was such an important day in South Africa (first democratic elections). This is a story with a positive and happy ending!
We start with a tour of District Six. See the oldest mosque in S.A. District Six was once home to thousands of people of various cultures who lived at the foot of Table Mountain.
Our tour continues to the Cape Flats to visit Langa, the oldest formal black township in Cape Town, and see the local market, an art & crafts centre, and we’ll try to find the elusive traditional healer, but no guarantees! We visit a crèche (if open) offering fun, and a safe haven for the local children. On Sundays we visit a local community church (optional).
We also view Bonteheuwel, Nyanga, Crossroads, and Khayelitsha, home to over a million people, and Gugulethu where we see the Gugulethu Seven Memorial and the Amy Biehl Memorial.
Cape Town has millions of people living in townships, and this tour takes you to visit them and offers an opportunity to find out about their harsh past, to witness the challenges they face every day, and about the positive hope for the future.
At the end of the tour you’ll leave with a greater understanding of how the Rainbow Nation developed and people of all colours live in this democratic country in relative harmony. The rainbow is associated with the hope of a bright future, and symbolises the diversity of South Africa’s unspecified cultural, ethnic and racial groups.
Board the Robben Island ferry and enjoy spectacular views of Cape Town and Table Mountain as you sail across the bay to this island which is so full of history.
Once you reach the island you will be given a guided tour and see the prison cell that held Nelson Mandela captive for so many years.
Handy tip: Sun protection, protective clothing and preventative treatment against seas sickness are advisable.
4. The Southern Peninsular Tour
Our journey to Cape Point takes us along the scenic Atlantic seaboard coastal road. We pass the pristine beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay with their soft white sand and assure blue water. The formidable 12 Apostles Peaks rise above the road on one side, while sheer cliffs and incredible rock formations drop into the icy Atlantic Ocean on the other side. There is no doubt the coast of the Cape peninsula offers magnificent scenery with its great biodiversity.
We arrive at the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay with its imposing Sentinel. Visit Seal Island (own account) or shop for souvenirs at the craft market at the harbour.
Our tour continues over Chapman’s Peak which offers amazing photo opportunities, and onto the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. This area is home to magnificent ‘fynbos’, many different species of buck and birds, the Cape Mountain Zebra, and mischievous baboons. These creatures entertain guests enjoying lunch at the restaurant which has splendid views of False Bay. Take the funicular to the lighthouse to see the meeting of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans at the Cape Point.
We will visit Boulders Beach to see the Jackass penguins before arriving at the naval base of Simonstown, and then we venture inland to our last stop of the day at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. With the sun setting over the tall peaks of Table Mountain the last rays sparkle on the trees and flowers, and offer a fitting end to a day filled with all the Cape has to offer.
5. The City Tour
The City Tour will start in of the Two Oceans Aquarium where the ticket office is located, with Shark cage diving and myriad of animals from the two oceans that surround the Southern Africa coast.
